Welcome to Laura Popsey Media, here we take all the stress and guess work out of building your business through social media.
WHY YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS SOCIAL MEDIA
Traditional ways of driving customers to your small business included advertisements in your local paper, bulletin boards, and word of mouth. Due to technological advancements its far easier to reach your customer, you don’t need them to buy a paper or stop by a bulletin board, according to instagram there are currently 112 million active users on Instagram right now, they project they will add a further 26.9 million users by the end of this year!
Out of these 112 million users 3.1 million posts have been geo-tagged in Surrey alone. That is millions of eyes right here where your business is located, but they may not be seeing your posts, because the Social Media game has drastically changed since its inception. Now an algorithm decides what users see based off their current use of the app, and that makes it harder to grow your business, UNLESS you know how to work with the algorithm!
Thats where I come in, I’ve spent my entire career in social media and I understand the the different types of users based on each platform and how to get the algorithm to work for you, not against you!
Many small business owners have struggled to find the time to create an ‘online’ presence for their business because they are too busy with the actual running of the business. They also feel overwhelmed by the multitude of social platforms and the difficulty in growing their platforms because they don’t have the time to learn everything there is to know about these platforms.
While apps like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest may not seem of great importance to some small business owners, a study conducted by the worlds leading business magazine, Forbes found 88% of potential customers will rely on Social Media and Google Reviews before deciding to visit a business or restaurant. The customer is more informed now than ever before, which means small businesses need to use all of the tools available if they want to compete for those customers.
Right now 50 million small businesses are using Facebook to grow their customer base, of those 50 million 90% report a 40% revenue increase simply by using Facebook!
Of the 90%, of users 51% say they post daily to keep their customers active, that adds up to 21 hours a week, 84 hours a month, and 1,008 hours per year spent on just Facebook. That would be like working at your business all day and then going to a part-time job in the evenings, and when you factor the time into the other social platforms it very quickly becomes a full-time job. As a small business I understand that you don’t have that time, but I do!
I make sure that every client has a presence on Facebook and Instagram at the very minimum and I understand that small businesses are the very foundations of our local communities. I am passionate about keeping them in our communities not just for my children but for my neighbours children and our future generations. in order to do that we have to compete with the big box stores, who are growing astronomically because they’ve captured the interest of social media users. These companies underestimate the power of shopping local, so let us grow your business together!
